While it (sort of) worked during WWE's ThunderDome era, Alexa Bliss' Fiend-like gimmick failed to strike a chord with wrestling fans when they started returning to shows last year. With that, the former Women's Champion vanished from television, only to return this year in a series of tedious therapy sessions that resulted in her being almost exactly the same as she had been before.
Bliss vanished again after Elimination Chamber, but made her long-overdue return to RAW last night with her original music and gimmick. She did still, unfortunately, bring Lilly to the ring (presumably referencing that she'll only retain her senses if the doll is near), a surprise considering the fact you'd think WWE would have taken this opportunity to hit the refresh button on Bliss.
The popular WWE Superstar beat Sonya Deville in singles action, though there is some speculation that The Fiend could return to WWE. There was a weird glitch at the start of the WrestleMania Backlash broadcast and announcer Pat McAfee made a point of singling out a fan wearing a Fiend mask during Charlotte Flair's "I Quit" match with new SmackDown Women's Champion Ronda Rousey.
