Alexa Bliss' alliance with Bray Wyatt/The Fiend has been an interesting one, but following last week's two-night WrestleMania, it's a partnership that has come to an abrupt end.
That's a shame in many ways, especially when Bliss has spent the past few months taunting Randy Orton alone with The Fiend nowhere to be seen. A lot of fans have questioned why WWE didn't put these two together much sooner and in an interview with ComicBook.com, Bliss revealed that the company did consider a partnership before Wyatt even became The Fiend.
"So years ago we pitched an idea to have me come in because I was doing the Harley Quinn thing, and he thought it would be a fun dynamic, but it never really got off the ground," Bliss said of her possibly joining The Wyatt Family. "They already had plans for me. This was right before my first title win, so this was leading up to TLC against Becky. So obviously WWE had other plans for me."
"I'm actually really happy that I didn't join Bray then because I think the fact that Braun and I were Mixed Match Challenge partners helped. The fact that I was so confident in my character at the time and the fact that Nikki and I had a past and all these things contribute to the character now. I don't think back then it would have worked with me. I don't think it would've made sense."
When The Wyatt Family was still a thing, we constantly heard chatter that someone might take on the role of Sister Abigail, and it seems that role very nearly ended up going to Alexa Bliss.
Things did work out well for her, of course, and her character is now being taken in an intriguing new direction. We don't know where that's leading, but she'll hopefully get involved with the women's division again (unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be the plan for the time being).
