Just when things seemed to be looking up for recent Raw signing Apollo Crews, the talented Superstar tweaked his knee during his United States Championship match with Andrade, and has now been forced to drop out of the Money in the Bank Ladder Match.

WWE posted the following after Raw went off the air.

Apollo Crews suffered a knee injury that left him unable to continue in his United States Championship Match with Andrade on Raw. Due to that injury, Crews will no longer be able to compete in the Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match on Sunday, May 10

The injury was clearly storyline, so we're not sure where this is going. Did WWE decide to take Crews out of the match to make way for a surprise entrant, or did the powers that be simply decide to but the breaks on the momentum he'd been building since making his red brand debut. There's also speculation that it may lead to a heel turn, as Apollo was visibly upset when Charly Caruso attempted to interview him after his match, and may soon take his frustrations out on some jobbers.

Keep an eye on The Ring Report for updates on Crews' replacement in the MITB match.
