The Nexus made their WWE debut back in 2010, and considering the fact that Daniel Bryan and Bray Wyatt are the only two members left in the company, it's fair to say that WWE failed to capitalise on what a talented group this was. Recently, former WWE Superstars Wade Barrett and Darren Young revealed that they were called about some sort of reunion it's thought might have taken place at WrestleMania.
While it's thought that key members of the group actually turned the offer down, we've also heard that it may have been scrapped after WrestleMania was moved to the empty WWE Performance Center as a result of COVID-19.
Well, Dave Meltzer weighed in on that in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, and explains that those high up in creative were never told about this. He believes that it was probably a Vince McMahon idea he didn't share with many people, though it's also speculated that Barrett turning the company down is what may have led to WWE pulling the plug on the concept (he was, after all, their leader).
Either way, Metzer explains that "it was never serious enough to be in any WrestleMania discussions."
Are you disappointed that we didn't get to see Nexus reunite at the Show of Shows?
