During this past Monday's RAW, WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart returned for an in-ring segment with Canada's own Sami Zayn and World Heavyweight Champion Gunther.
The always-outspoken Hart hasn't shied away from making his feelings about Vince McMahon known and has had issues with Triple H in the past due to his friendship with Shawn Michaels and alleged involvement in the Montreal Screwjob.
Talking backstage at RAW, the Hitman started by addressing his surprise WWE return.
"I didn’t just assume or take for granted that they were gonna invite me down tonight. Any time I get a chance to be in front of the Calgary fans because I think Calgary goes back the farthest to when I was 18, 19 years old wrestling," he explained. "I mean it’s a very special, powerful building for me to walk in. A lot of memories here. A lot of great memories. A lot of title matches."
"Even in the old Stampede Wrestling days, I had a lot of memories here. It’s kind of a funny feeling to walk down to the ring slowly and kind of pull yourself back to the ring and find yourself standing at the center talking to the fans."
Hart added, "I don’t know if I looked a little nervous. I’m not sure that I was. I think standing in the middle of the ring for a few seconds, this transformation takes place. I mean I think I transformed back into Bret 'The Hitman' Hart for a minute for everyone and it was fun for me to do that. It was something that was magical that was brought out by the love of the fans."
He then talked about crossing paths with Triple H at the show and, despite any possible past issues, had nothing but good things to say about the man now in charge of WWE creative.
"There’s not that many from my generation that are around anymore so running into Triple H is always a pleasure," Hart stated. "I’ve come to know so many of the young wrestlers that are right now at the top of the ranks, including Sami Zayn. In a lot of ways I feel like I’ve walked alongside them for many years."
