Cain Velasquez Comes To Rey Mysterio's Aid On RAW; Mixes It Up With Shelton Benjamin

Fans got a little tease of what to expect from Cain Velasquez's in-ring work this week on Raw, as the former UFC Champion came to the aid of his friend Rey Mysterio and took down Shelton Benjamin...

Rey Mysterio addressed the WWE Universe this week on Raw, thanking them for all of their support following Brock Lesnar's brutal attack on his son Dominic a few weeks ago. However, he was cut short by Shelton Benjamin.

Shelton, who trained Lesnar and considers him "family," figured he'd attempt to earn a title shot by pushing Rey around since that's all it seemed to take for his buddy Cain Velasquez (not sure that's quite how it worked, Shelty), and proceeded to intimidate the injured Luchador. This brought Velasquez out to the ring, and he took Benjamin down with ease before laying in some hard shots and syncing in a choke hold.

It was difficult to get a proper read on Cain's in-ring ability here, but his stuff looked pretty decent for the most part. At the very least, his upcoming match against Lesnar at Crown Jewel promises to be must-see... even if it's for the wrong reasons!
