Current WWE 24/7 Champion Rob Gronkowski Is Officially Returning To The NFL

Despite only recently signing with WWE and becoming the new 24/7 Champion, it's been officially announced that Rob "Gronk" Gronkowski is returning to the NFL and has signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Rob Gronkowski is returning to The NFL after being traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from the New England Patriots.

Gronk actually retired from football just over a year ago and recently signed with WWE. He hosted WrestleMania last month and pinned R-Truth to become the new 24/7 Champion. Why is he coming out of retirement now? Well, Gronk's agent Drew Rosenhaus said Tuesday on SportsCenter that the five-time Pro Bowler has been "really invigorated" physically since he retired nearly 13 months ago.

"He tells me he feels fantastic, the best he's ever felt," Rosenhaus said. "His weight's back up to 260. He passed his physical with flying colors today. He's just really excited about playing football again, and being in Florida is exciting for him."

This may well be true, but we can't help but feel his WWE segments going down like a lead balloon might also be a factor.

At any rate, WWE commented on the news, reminding Gronk that he can still be pinned for that title on the field. Truth also sent out a Tweet, demanding that his "baby" be returned to him.
