Damian Priest's WWE Absence Explained Following His Surprise Return On RAW Last Night

Heading into this year's two-night WrestleMania, Damian Priest was booked as a dominant force on RAW and ended up being put in a high profile match alongside Bad Bunny. After the PPV, he continued feuding with The Miz and John Morrison, and competed in that bizarre zombie Lumberjack match at WrestleMania Backlash (which it's fair to say we'd all rather forget).

Weirdly, Priest has been M.I.A. from the Monday night show for well over a month, leading to many fans speculating that he could be injured or somehow fallen out of favour with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon. There have been claims the former NXT Superstar suffered an injury before WrestleMania, but following his return to RAW last night, we have some updated information.

According to PWInsider, Priest has actually been at home dealing with personal matters. The hope had always been he'd been back in time for the Money in the Bank qualifying matches.

However, as we now know, he failed to earn a spot in RAW's last-chance main event last night, so it seems unlikely Priest will have a role to play at the upcoming PPV. That could, of course, change heading into SummerSlam, but he remains somewhat directionless on the show for the time being.

Keep checking back here as we'll keep you updated when we learn more about plans for him!
