Don't Expect To See Brock Lesnar Back In WWE At SUMMERSLAM Or Even Beyond

The last time we saw Brock Lesnar, he lost the WWE Championship to Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania. However, those of you hoping he might be back in time for SummerSlam look set to be sorely disappointed...

Earlier this week, we learned that WWE has reportedly "torn up" the original card for this year's SummerSlam PPV, and that was unfortunately to be expected with the COVID-19 pandemic still very much having an impact on the sports and entertainment industries in the United States.

It's also been confirmed that WWE's biggest show of the summer has been moved to the WWE Performance Center, but with WWE Hall of Famer Edge now injured, the company isn't going to have former WWE Champion Brock Lesnar to fall back on.

In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter from Dave Meltzer, he confirms that The Beast isn't scheduled for SummerSlam and explains that, "one of the reasons he put over McIntyre so strongly was because he was not coming back any time soon." That's obviously a reference to Lesnar dropping the WWE title to Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam.

We don't know what Lesnar's current contract status is, but chances are he's staying at home while COVID-19 continues posing such a risk. It's also hard not to wonder if Paul Heyman effectively being fired as RAW's Executive Director might have somewhat soured Lesnar's relationship with Vince McMahon.

We'll keep you guys updated if we learn more.
