Rumours swirled for months about the return of The Hardy Boyz to WWE, and while we all wait and see if they finally return to their #BROKEN personas, new details have surfaced about the day they came back home. That was obviously at this year's WrestleMania, but just like commentator Corey Graves recently confirmed that he didn't know Matt and Jeff were back until the second they music hit, those competing in the ladder match were almost in the dark every bit as much.
During a recent interview with USA Today, The Club's Karl Anderson had this to say about their return.
"We found out a couple of hours before we had to work. We had some kind of expectation because the rumors were flying for a couple of weeks. The day of is when we got word they were coming. We were all very happy with it.
"At the end of the day, Jeff and Matt Hardy helped make the WWE tag team division what it is. The ladder tag team matches they had at WrestleMania in the past made those matches famous. Being in there at WrestleMania with Matt and Jeff Hardy was an honor in itself. It was a great moment to be part of and I’m glad we got that."
That gave the teams involved very little time to prepare, but the match was still a lot of fun and provided the Hardys with an epic way to come back to WWE. Despite all those rumours, it's easy to see why WWE was so careful not to spill the beans on it beforehand as the reaction from fans when their music hit was quite possibly the loudest pop of the night.
It also just goes to show that, even if you work for WWE, you never know what might be coming!
