Elisah Spencer jumped the barricade during RAW and proceeded to attack Seth Rollins by tackling him to the ground. The 24-year-old "fan" was arrested by the NYPD and charged with attempted assault, and attempted violation of arts & cultural affairs (disrupting a live sporting event), but she's now told his side of the story during an interview with The New York Daily News.
Spencer believes he was scammed by Rollins, though it's clear he was talking to one of my imposters on social media. "I apologized to the WWE for my actions," he explained. "I had a legitimate beef but as a grown man I could have settled it a different way. If I saw him today I wouldn’t attack him. I’ve moved on."
Apparently, Spencer met Rollins at a meet and greet a few years ago and asked Rollins to help him become a pro wrestler. It was then he started communicating with someone online, sending them $3000 in gift cards "to see if I was loyal." He also alleges that "Rollins" asked him "to be a wrestling blogger for him."
"My plan was to help Finn Balor. I’m a fan," he added when asked about the attack. "I like his aura, his attitude. I like everything about his charisma. I like everything about him. I jumped from where I was sitting at. I ran and speared Seth Rollins. I busted his lip open and he caught me in a headlock. I broke the headlock and I was trying to get him, then the referees and the security guards broke us apart."
It's quite clear that poor Elisah needs some help because he doesn't appear to understand that he was being catfished or that what he sees on television each week is, in fact, scripted.
Here are some of the messages Spencer exchanged with the fake Rollins:
