TJP reflects back on his final months with WWE.
Back in 2016, the former WWE star’s career was on an upswing as TJP bested the likes of Cedric Alexander, Zack Sabre Jr., and Kota Ibushi to win the Cruiserweight Classic and become the inaugural champion. However, during his final year or two with the company, it was noticeable that the former Cruiserweight Champion wasn’t getting much television time and according to the man himself, he was trying to write storylines that he felt the company could do something with:
“I wrote for everybody man,” he begins on Josh Tariff’s podcast. “I wrote stories for me and Elias, me and Jinder, me and Finn, me and Bobby Lashley, me and Lio me and whoever. Every person on every roster I wrote a story for what I thought I could do with them. And just none of them were a good fit in his (Vince) eyes so he didn't really know what to do and after a while, it just got to being where he didn't want me to stay being unhappy.”
