Former WWE Superstar Eva Marie Opens Up About Her Battle With Alcoholism
Eva Marie's WWE departure came as a huge shock to wrestling fans and she's now opened up about her recent battles with alcoholism and what sort of an impact that's ended up having on her in recent years.
Eva Marie was brought up to the main roster in WWE far too soon and after taking some time to hone her skills in NXT, she started making quite the impact on SmackDown Live. Unfortunately, a Wellness Policy violation brought her push to a sudden end and with her husband causing a storm by taking to social media to share his outrage, the writing was soon on the wall for her.
The former Total Divas star's release still came as a surprise, though, and she's since focused on her acting and modelling career. However, Marie has now made a startling revelation.
As you can see in the Instagram post below, he's opened up about battles with alcoholism and while it's not clear whether or not that played any sort of role in her WWE departure, it's clearly something she's struggled with and now overcome. We'll have to wait and see about a possible WWE return, though!
It was difficult to open up publicly about my Alcoholism and recovery, but I’m very happy I did. I used to be incredibly embarrassed, so much so that I avoided getting help because I felt like only “weak” people can’t handle something on their own and I was embarrassed that people would judge me and look at me negatively. I am so happy I no longer feel this way, and I want to encourage anyone who is struggling with addiction to take that first step of asking for help, it will literally save your life. - To those starting a program, stick with it, your life won't magically transform over night, there will be extreme highs and extreme lows, the chances are you will relapse at least once, but Don't quit, keep pushing forward no matter how hard it gets. I PROMISE you it's worth it in the end. #WeGotThisOneDayAtATime 👊🏼💪🏼#GODISTHEGREATEST
