Lana was among the Superstars released by WWE early last month, bringing her eight-year tenure with the company to a close. There's been a lot of interest among fans about what she'll do next, and Lana - real-name, CJ Perry - opened up on her future plans during a recent conversation with Chris Jericho on his Talk Is Jericho podcast.
It makes for an interesting listen, though some fans have pointed out on social media that Perry does occasionally come across as somewhat arrogant. Why? Well, she takes credit for much of Rusev/Miro's success and talks in a mostly negative way about fans online and the "dirt sheets" who she believes have never showed her the same support as those attending WWE shows.
Regardless, Lana had a lot to say about being blindsided by her release, and believes that if she does continue working in the wrestling world, it will be with a "No-Cut Clause."
"I felt really relieved in the sense of like, I've been waiting for this call," she told Jericho. "That's the part I don't like about the environment. I want to — whatever wrestling contract I have next if I stay in wrestling, which I hope I do, I want a no-cut clause. That was the worst."
So, Lana wants a contract which means she can't be fired for the duration of the time she signs with a promotion. Needless to say, that's unbelievably unrealistic, and if this is going to be essential for Perry (who also revealed in this interview that she has an acting gig in the works), then chances are we won't see her step back into the ring for the foreseeable future.
Whether AEW will want to revisit an old WWE gimmick by pairing Miro with CJ remains to be seen, but that might not be the best idea if they want to avoid being dubbed "WWE-lite" by fans.
