The Revival is widely considered to be one of the best tag-teams in the world, and had massive success as a dominant force in NXT. Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson were pegged for greatness in WWE, but things didn't quite go according to plan when they eventually moved up to the "main roster."
The Revival The Revolt recently secured their release from the company, and while speaking to Chris Jericho on his podcast, Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood (as they're now known) explained why they were unhappy despite being given a couple of tag-team championship runs.
"Things were going decent for us, they’re going well all things considered," said Cash. "But we’re not happy. The tag titles don’t mean anything. I would rather lose to the tag champs for the rest of my career than hold them, because it’s just going to be seen as a failed championship run”.
It's hard to argue with this. It's plain to see that Vince McMahon simply doesn't attach much value to the tag-team division, and that's one of the main reasons the tandem decided to leave.
“One of our biggest factors in leaving, was that tag team wrestling was featured everywhere else except for WWE and we wanted to be a part of that," added Dax. "We could sit back and, apart from our NXT stuff, we could have no legacy in wrestling - or we could go out and make history”.
We're still not sure what's next for The Revolt, but there are persistent rumors that they will eventually sign with AEW. Wherever they end up, let's hope they're given the opportunity to reach their full potential.
