WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg was a recent guest on The Pop Culture Show, and the former Universal Champion (who lost the title to Braun Strowman at WrestleMania) has now shared an update on how much longer he will be under contract with WWE for.
"I am contracted with WWE for the next two years through 2022, '23," he revealed. "I’ve got two matches per year. I’ve exhausted my limit this year quite early on April the fifth with WrestleMania under these really weird circumstances."
"But I’ve got a couple other extremely interesting projects right on the cusp, but as you guys know in the entertainment business right now everything’s on hold unless it’s a production of 10 or under pretty much," Goldberg continued. "We got a lot of cool things that people are going to find out about pretty soon. My WWE commitment is still going strong. At 53, I never would’ve imagined especially after making fun of Flair when he was doing it in his early 40s."
The original plan for Goldberg in 2020 was for him to drop the title at the Show of Shows to Roman Reigns, but that changed when The Big Dog walked out of WrestleMania due to concerns over COVID-19. Clearly, we have at least four more matches to expect from Goldberg, so it will be interesting seeing how WWE decides to handle those.
Who would you like his next opponent to be?
