As we've already reported extensively here at The Ring Report, WWE has decided to move Matt Riddle from NXT to SmackDown. However, as you might expect, this has resulted in some changes to NXT's creative plans.

According to Fightful Select's Sean Ross Sapp, Riddle's call up to the main roster has, "sent shockwaves through multiple brands."

While Vince McMahon did talk with other WWE officials to discuss Riddle's move, it sounds like those in NXT actually planned on waiting until Pete Dunne would be able to travel to the US, thereby leaving Riddle as one half of the NXT Tag Team Champions. This explains why the team of Indus Shera, managed by Malcolm Bivens, were brought in to take on Riddle ahead of Dunne's return to the US once the travel ban lifts.

Once made aware that Riddle was heading to WWE's blue brand, the titles were taken from him, but it was decided that Indus Shera simply weren't ready for that spot yet. As a result, they were pulled from NXT television.

Now, the titles are on Imperium, a team officials decided were ready for them. As for Dunne, there's no word on what the plan is for him  especially when there's still no sign of that travel ban being lifted by the United States.
