WWE has released a Proxy Statement for shareholders, confirming that the 2021 Annual Meeting of Stockholders will take place on May 27th. As you might expect, it will be a virtual meeting, but the biggest talking point is the SEC filing which reveals the salaries for the company's top executives.
Those include Vince McMahon - who earned $1.4 million in 2021 - as well as Triple H and Stephanie (they made $730,000 each). These are only base salaries, and it's likely that they all make considerably more than this. Still, it makes for interesting reading and is likely to infuriate those who couldn't understand why WWE decided to release talent during the midst of the pandemic last year.
Here are the figures, shared by Wrestling Inc., detailing how much the company's executives earn:
- WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon – $1.4 million in 2021 (equal with 2020, 2019, 2018)
- WWE President & Chief Revenue Officer Nick Khan – $1.2 million in 2021 (1.2 million in 2020, Khan joined the company in August 2020)
- WWE Executive Vice President of Global Talent Strategy & Development Paul "Triple H" Levesque – $730,000 in 2021 ($730,000 in 2020, $710,000 in 2019, $684,125 in 2018, $650,000 in 2017)
- WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon – $730,000 in 2021 ($730,000 in 2020, $710,000 in 2019, $684,125 in 2018)
- WWE Chief Financial Officer Kristina Salen – $730,000 in 2021 ($730,000 in 2020, Salen joined the company in July 2020, becoming CFO in August 2020)
The numbers here don't include any stock options and bonuses or what Vince, Triple H, and Stephanie earn from their on-screen roles as their respective WWE characters.
Regardless, not a bad time to be an executive in WWE, eh?
