Hulk Hogan Reveals Why Vince McMahon Refused To Let Him Turn Heel At WRESTLEMANIA (And How It Changed History)

In a new interview, the host of this year's WrestleMania, Hulk Hogan, has revealed why Vince McMahon wouldn't let him turn heel...and the impact that ultimately had on the history of the wrestling business.

WrestleMania VI was headlined by Hulk Hogan vs. The Ultimate Warrior, an epic match featuring two of WWE's biggest stars at the time. Viewed as a passing of the torch at the time (Warrior defeated Hogan to become the WWE Champion), it was a historic moment, but one which could have played out much differently.

Talking on WWE's The Bump (it's still a thing!), Hogan revealed that he actually pitched an idea to WWE Chairman Vince McMahon which would have seen him turn heel, beating up The Ultimate Warrior after losing and moving on from "Hulkamania."

"Vince and I had a disagreement. Vince had an opinion that Hulkamania had his run," he explained. "And it actually went back to WrestleMania 6. When he asked me to put the Warrior over, I said, 'That's no problem at all, brother!' but my question always is, 'If I'm putting somebody over, what are we doing after that?' And, you know, there wasn't really a clear-cut answer for that."

"I said, 'Well, how about this. When I put him over and hand him the belt and everybody's cheering for him, I get halfway down the aisle. How about I just...turn around and just grind him? Just drop him and just drag him around the ring. And I want to be 'Hollywood' Hulk Hogan!; I said, 'I want to be HHH: Hollywood Hulk Hogan. The ultimate bad guy.'"

Had that happened, Hogan may have never left WWE for WCW and that means the nWo probably wouldn't have been formed (a huge part of why WCW had the advantage in the Monday Night Wars). This would have changed wrestling history forever, so was Vince right or wrong in his decision?

We may never know...

Hall and Nash started the NWO not Hogan.............. honestly thought that was common knowledge............. WCW without Hogan would of just done the same story with someone like Macho Man or Sting instead.

It was a great idea, so of course Vince nixed it.
