In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it's revealed that Paul "Triple H" Levesque received a demotion in WWE last December. After George Barrios and Michelle Wilson were fired, Dave Meltzer says he heard rumblings about something big happening, and it appears as if this may be it.
According to a new SEC filing which was revealed this week, Triple H's new job title is Executive Vice President, Global Talent Strategy and Development. His previous job title was the head of talent relations, while he also oversaw many departments as EVP of Talent, Live Events and Creative. As a result, this is considered a demotion by those in the company.
Brad Blum, Vince McMahon's Chief of Staff, has taken over Triple H's other duties as Executive Vice President of Operations, and this "quiet demotion" also means that he's going to be focusing more on NXT and building that as a brand worldwide.
Now, it's important to note that The Game may have decided to scale back what he does in order to focus on NXT, and there's nothing to say Vince has decided to change his role in the company after some sort of difference to opinion.
