As expected, JBL will be inducted into this year's WWE Hall of Fame. That's been rumoured for a while now, and while there were rumblings yesterday that he would be going in alongside APA tag team partner Ron Simmons/Faarooq, WWE has clearly decided that he's worthy of his own individual induction.
After a run in the Global Wrestling Federation, JBL made his WWE debut in 1995 as Justin "Hawk" Bradshaw. Eventually, he finally had the chance to shine as part of the Acolytes Protection Agency, and later broke out as a singles star when he reinvented himself as the heel character John Bradshaw Layfield in 2004. During that time, he became SmackDown's longest-reigning WWE Champion.
Layfield has held a number of singles titles, and is credited with coming up with the idea for WWE to do an annual Tribute to the Troops show. After his retirement, he worked as a color commentator, primarily on SmackDown.
You can check out his comments on the induction below, as well as a message for JBL from his old foe John Cena.
