Rumour has it that Rusev will return to SmackDown Live tonight, but the Bulgarian Brute may be wishing he was back on RAW after reading this. Until Kurt Angle makes his inevitable return to the squared circle, we're all forced to just fantasise about who his first opponent could be. However, Angle's latest suggestion might just be the best one yet.

During a recent interview with Esquire, the Olympic Gold Medallist revealed that he would love to come to blows with Rusev, someone who would be well matched with Angle both in terms of in-ring ability and personality; after all, who better to topple the anti-American Rusev than the man who won a gold medal with a broken freakin' neck?

"There are obviously a lot of guys out there [who would be a perfect opponent] but one that I think I could have a really meaningful feud with would be Rusev. I really like the way he competes in the ring. I love his persona and I think I’d be able to have a nice program with Rusev. He’s a very talented individual, and I think that the clash of our styles would work very well."

The fact they're on separate brands means this probably won't happen for a very long time, but there's no denying that Angle's idea is a sound one. We'll just have to wait and see if it comes to pass, but considering the fact Angle has a long list of suitable opponents who he could deliver 5* matches with, we may have a long wait either way for this clash!
