Lio Rush Defeated Elias On RAW Thanks To Heath Slater's Debut As A (Crooked?) Referee

Heath Slater refereed his first official match on Raw tonight, and it looks like the former Nexus member is going to be in GM Elect Baron Corbin's pocket as he was forced to count Elias' shoulders to the mat.

As expected, it looks like Heath Slater is going to be one of Baron Corbin's reluctant allies in his new role as a referee on Raw.

Tonight, Slater officiated a match between Elias and Lio Rush. When Bobby Lashley got involved the former tag-team champion went to call for the disqualification, but The Almighty One stopped him and intimidated him into making the 3 count after Rush broke Elias' own guitar over his back.

We've seen similar angles to this many times over the years in various different promotions, and it usually ends with the referee snapping and attacking his tormentor. Hopefully something like that happens here and results in a decent push for Slater, who has been underutilized in WWE for years now.
