WWE Monday Night Raw for June 16, 2025 featured a few noteworthy moments such as Goldberg's return challenging Gunther for Saturday Night's Main Event, AJ Styles vs. Dominik Mysterio announced for WWE Night of Champions and Becky Lynch set to defend the Women's Intercontinental Championship against Bayley next week on Raw, the return of Asuka, and the final two King & Queen of the Ring semifinalists determined. Full results for Raw can be found here.
But another big story coming out of this episode that wasn't planned was an injury suffered by Liv Morgan.
Opening the show with a promo about how she is the best women's tag team champion of all time, demanding that she has a rematch against Iyo Sky for the Women's World Championship and badmouthing Nikki Bella (who she attacked last week), Morgan has been set up for quite a bit down the pipeline, but a match against Kairi Sane later in the show has derailed those plans.
Almost immediately in the match, Morgan fell to the ground in a standard move—nothing out of the ordinary—and had braced herself for the fall with her arms in typical fashion, only to get hurt so badly that the match was put on hold. WWE took a moment to film just Sane as Morgan was checked on by the medical team, before going to commercial. Upon returning back to the broadcast, it was announced that the match was over and that Morgan was being checked out for an injury.
Later in the show, Michael Cole and Corey Graves put out an update that Morgan apparently suffered a dislocated shoulder and wished her the best in her recovery.
At this time, it's not been revealed just how long she's expected to be out of action, but an update from Mike Johnson of PWInsider broke down the likelihood that it could very well put her on the shelf for 16 weeks if it is on the more severe side.
Even if it isn't as bad, it will surely keep her out of the ring long enough that we won't be seeing her against Iyo Sky for the Women's World Championship within the next month, nor will we see whatever bout was being set up against Nikki Bella for Evolution, as that premium live event goes down in just 27 days.
Hopefully, this is just a minor setback, and Morgan is between the ropes in no time.
