Rumour has it that a number of main roster Superstars are planning on sitting out upcoming TV tapings until WWE management makes masks mandatory at the WWE Performance Center. Up until now, it's been widely reported that the company, and Vince McMahon, in particular, hasn't been taking COVID-19 seriously, but it seems the recent outbreak has changed things.
According to WrestlingNews.co, developmental wrestlers at the WWE Performance Center (and all staff) will now be required to wear a mask whenever they're inside the building. However, this isn't going to apply to those competing in the ring (which is understandable) or at ringside in the "crowd" (which is less understandable).
There was a lot of unhappiness surrounding the decision to bring in random friends and family members to tapings, and that's why they were absent from Monday's RAW. WWE has yet to officially acknowledge the fact that the virus has spread throughout the company, and those who have dared to go public with their diagnosis have found themselves with backstage heat in the company.
It's good to hear that WWE is taking COVID-19 more seriously now, though it's hard to imagine Vince McMahon of all people sitting backstage wearing a mask. What do you guys think?
