Yesterday, we learned WWE had decided to release Jeff Hardy after whatever it was that happened during Saturday night's house show. Now, Mat Men Pro Wrestling podcast's Andrew Zarian has weighed in with more details, saying that the former WWE Champion has been having a tough time of it in recent weeks.

"What I was told is that he’s been really good,"  Zarian said. "He does occasionally drink but the last couple of weeks have been rough for him. Those are the words, more or less. I hope he gets better."

It sounds like Jeff may have fallen off the wagon, and Sean Ross Sapp did claim that Hardy refused to go to rehab before ultimately being released by WWE. We still don't know exactly what's happened, of course, and probably won't until Jeff decides to weigh in. Recently, his brother Matt said he's doing well, and Jeff's wife, Beth, has now weighed in to assure fans they don't need to worry.

It's no secret that Jeff is dealing with a lot of pain as a result of the risky moves he's pulled off throughout his career, so whatever has happened here could be unrelated to previous substance abuse issues.

Regardless, we wish him all the best.
