MVP made a surprise return during this year's Royal Rumble PPV, and while he later wrestled in a couple of matches on RAW so his son could see him wrestle, it was believed that was the end of his wrestling career. Soon, it was reported that he had been hired to work as a producer behind the scenes, but MVP has been popping up on television more and more in recent weeks.
Well, there's a good reason for that as PW Insider is reporting that MVP has transitioned from being a producer to once again serving as a full-time wrestler in WWE. There's no word on why WWE made the decision, but there's no denying that he's been bringing a lot to the table on WWE's flagship show in recent weeks.
A number of producers were furloughed by WWE back in April, so whether that also happened to MVP is unclear. If it did, it's likely he continued coming to work to provide an on-screen presence, and a decision has now been made to make that a permanent role for him (presumably as Bobby Lashley's new manager based on what's been happening lately).
MPV will be in Lashley's corner at Backlash when he challenges Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship.
