New Details Have Been Revealed About WWE's Original Plans For Kairi Sane And Shayna Baszler's Return

During last night's episode of RAW, Kairi Sane defeated SmackDown Women's Champion Bayley by pinfall. However, that won't quite be the last we see of her because WWE taped both this and next week's episodes of the Monday night show back to back, so she'll return to the flagship show one final time.

Sane is said to be returning to Japan with her husband, hence why she's leaving the company, and Wrestling Observer Radio reports that the original plan for Sane was for her to be injured by a returning Shayna Baszler. Baszler was reportedly brought back as a backup plan as Natalya was originally scripted to be the attacker who writers Sane off television.

Natalya has been M.I.A. for a while now, and while it's not believed that she has COVID-19, her husband TJ Wilson was thought to be sick a few weeks back so WWE has decided to keep them at home.

During RAW, Baszler could be seen watching the match with Sane and Bayley, so chances are she'll take out the Japanese Superstar next week (cutting short any hopes she might have of challenging for the SmackDown Women's title in the process).

Whether WWE is now moving ahead with Asuka vs. Baszler at SummerSlam obviously remains to be seen!
