This past Tuesday on Smackdown Live, Kevin Owens busted Vince McMahon open with a shoot headbutt before punting him in the ribs and delivering a devastating frog splash. It was a terrific segment overall, but because of the bleeding violation penalties WWE has in place, many wondered if Vince's color was planned.

Well, according to Dave Meltzer in this week’s issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the blood was indeed planned in advance - after all, who is Vince going to fine? Himself?

The prevailing theory seems to be that McMahon bladed before the spot and then used nu-skin to cover the cut, causing it to reopen once KO laid in the strike. It's possible that the bleeding occurred from the headbutt itself, but chances are they wanted to guarantee a result so this seems unlikely.

Does this mean we'll be seeing more blood in matches moving forward? Don't bet on it! Vince does pretty much whatever the hell he wants, but not many others would get away with that.
