The #1 contender match between Daniel Bryan and The Miz at Super Show-Down left many fans disappointed when Bryan rolled The Awesome One up for a quick pin after less than 3 minutes.

Afterwards, speculation pointed to the fact that Bryan mistimed a diving headbutt during his match against Shelton Benjamin the previous Tuesday on SmackDown as the reason for the match being cut short, but if Bryan hadn't been cleared to compete then he wouldn't have been allowed in the ring at all.

According to Dave Meltzer, the real reason was simply that the show was running long and WWE wanted The Undertaker and Triple H's match to get all of its pomp and circumstance in. After all, those guys clearly needed almost half an hour to fall over each other a bit and hit their finishes.
