There were a lot of rumors doing the rounds that Rey Mysterio had decided to leave WWE after contract negotiations didn't go his way, and the recent "Eye for an Eye" match with Seth Rollins at Extreme Rules certainly appeared to confirm that he was on his way out of the company.

Well, it now looks like the legendary luchador is preparing to sign a new deal to remain with WWE.

Although it doesn't sound like pen has actually been put to paper yet, Dave Meltzer reckons it's only a matter of time. Apparently, part of the deal involves a new contract for his son Dominik, who is set to face Rollins at SummerSlam. Interestingly, Meltzer also mentions that All Elite Wrestling offered Rey a very lucrative deal to join their roster, which he declined because more dates were involved.

Mysterio is still one of the greatest in-ring talents in the world, so this is obviously great news - although fans may have a difficult time suspending their disbelieve if he returns to action too soon after having his damn eye torn out of its socket. Is that even something WWE cares about anymore? Evidently not.
