At this past Saturday's SummerSlam, Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns squared off with his cousin Jey Uso in Tribal Combat.
Interference from Jimmy helped secure a win for the Tribal Chief, though he seemed equally as shocked about what happened. Now, The Bloodline drama looks set to continue on Friday night's SmackDown but could that be the last we see of Reigns for a while?
According to Dave Meltzer, Reigns was injured during the match and is expected to take some time off.
"He’s going to be back Friday. Roman Reigns got hurt in that match. I haven't watched the beginning of the match over again, but I heard it was relatively early. I heard he got hurt. I don't know the nature of the injury, I just heard that he worked the match hurt. He got hurt early in the match."
"I don't know what his schedule is, but he's gonna be on the show Friday night, so...I would presume he'll be on Survivor Series. I don't know that as a fact. I'm sure he'll be on the Saudi show. As far as the next two pay-per-views, I don't know the answer to that one yet, but I guess Friday we will."
There's been chatter for several weeks now about Reigns not working another show until Survivor Series in late November, so it's possible he always planned on stepping away for a while to deal with nagging injuries.
While WWE is promoting the possibility of Jimmy rejoining The Bloodline, we're guessing he actually has an issue with Jey which will now take centre stage in Reigns' absence. That's a more logical next step for the storyline and there are bound to be ways for Solo Sikoa to get involved with that.
Nothing about Reigns' WWE status is confirmed right now so we'll see what happens on Friday!
