Like Dean Ambrose (Jon Moxley) and Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns got his start in WWE as a member of The Shield. While that group has reformed since first breaking up, it's never quite had the same feel, and everyone involved has now moved on to different things (or companies).
During a recent interview, the Head of the Table was asked if a reunion of some sort interests him, and it doesn't sound like Reigns has any intentions of putting the band back together in any form.
"I mean, I have a lot of respect for everything that we did now, but a lot of that time was really pivotal for me to learn and gain the experience, be around other performers and see how their processes is and how they attack things and how they think about things," he explained. "Where I’m at now, it’s a one man show I have the family dynamic with my cousins, but at the same time, I call the shots. I don’t think I could share it anymore."
Of course, something that would definitely put the brakes on The Shield reuniting is the fact Rollins is gunning for Reigns' Universal Championship. Asked how he'd feel about that match, the Big Dog made it clear that he knows they could deliver something special any time, any place.
"Seth is a special performer, especially in-ring. It can be a cold situation. You give us a crowd, you give us a ring and we’re gonna make some special happen. So you put us in a scenario like a WrestleMania, a SummerSlam a big PPV, no question. That chemistry, that ambition for greatness between the both of us, it’ll always be there so that’s what’s gonna always make it special. That’s easy. That’s like an insurance policy. When in doubt, throw me and him in there."
On next week's SmackDown, Rollins will be competing for a chance to compete at Money in the Bank, so should he get his hands on that briefcase...well, Roman might want to watch his back!
