WWE released a number of Superstars at the beginning of June, including Ruby Riott (a.k.a. Dori Prange and f.k.a. Heidi Lovelace). It's already been confirmed that she won't be using her old moniker, but we now have a much better idea of what she has planned for her post-WWE career.
Recently, Riott changed her name to "Ruby Soho" across social media, and it seems that's the name she plans to use on the independent scene and whichever company she ultimately signs with.
Talking on The Wrestling Perspective, Ruby told Rancid guitarist/vocalist Lars Frederiksen that she still wants to be known as Ruby and that the "Ruby Soho" idea was inspired by the 1995 punk rock song of the same name by the band Rancid, from "...And Out Come the Wolves."
Frederiksen offered to get Ruby the rights to use the "Ruby Soho" single as her entrance theme, and that's something he was extremely excited out (which is understandable).
That interview took place a few weeks ago, and it seems Ruby and Lars ended up making an agreement for her to use that name and theme. That's pretty awesome, but as Soho remains under a non-compete clause until the end of August, it's going to be a while before we find out where she's heading.
AEW remains the most likely possibility for now, though!
