This week's SmackDown Live was a solid show but that sadly wasn't reflected in the ratings. Despite plenty of hype for the upcoming TLC PPV and some great in-ring action, the blue brand pulled in a mere 1.948 million viewers. That's a 14% drop from last Tuesday's 2.264 million viewers and the second lowest ratings the Tuesday night show has done since Election Night in November 2016.
SmackDown Live ended up being #10 for the night in terms of viewership on cable behind Curse of Oak Island, Rachel Maddow Show, Hannity, Tucker Carlson Tonight, Last Word, The Ingraham Angle, The Five, All In (not that one), and Special Report. Ouch. Its main competition was NCIS on CBS but that was unlikely to hurt SmackDown Live too much so WWE has to be worrying right now.
What has resulted in these ratings? We don't know. However, it could be a sign that fans aren't enjoying the creative direction of the show so big changes could end up being made from here.
