This week's episode of RAW saw ratings drop to an all-time record low (again), and this seems to be the norm for the Monday night show as fans continue tuning out on a weekly basis.
It's clear the product is stale and something major needs to be done in order to bring fans back. From week to week, the same old matches and rivalries are showcased, while storylines and booking decisions seem to range from being downright unwatchable to only okay.
Fans are set to be welcomed back in the coming weeks, of course, with Money in the Bank and SummerSlam expected to be big shows. Now, Mat Men Podcast's Andrew Zarian reveals that Stephanie McMahon is set to meet with WWE's TV network partners to discuss ideas that will hopefully bring viewers back to shows like RAW, NXT, and SmackDown.
"I don’t know which network it was but somebody told me that Steph has a meeting with one of the networks at the end of the month for pitched ideas from the network," Zarian explains. "I don’t know if this is a common thing that they do or if this is a regular thing but I know that the networks are pitching ideas."
As previously reported, some ideas include RAW Roulette and Legends Night, not to mention King of the Ring. However, WWE clearly needs to do something bigger than that, especially when there are deep-seated creative issues - like hiring writers who have never watched wrestling - that need to be addressed in some way.
