Thanks to the Coronavirus pandemic, this year's WrestleMania is no longer taking place in Tampa Bay's Raymond James Stadium as planned. Instead, it's going to hail from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, and following WWE's official statement on the matter, the Tampa Bay Local Organizing Committee has now weighed in.
"Our community has waited 36 years to host WrestleMania and while we are saddened that this unforeseen situation has led us to today’s announcement, this is totally the right call for the security and safety of everyone involved," they state.
"A huge thank you to all our local leaders and our friends at WWE, as we collectively worked through the unprecedented fluidity of the last few weeks. The Tampa Bay-WWE partnership has never been stronger." They add that, "For those of you who have purchased WrestleMania tickets, you will be able to get a refund at the point of purchase (Ticketmaster.com for most of you)."
It's also said that, "If you purchased tickets at the box office then you can get a refund there when they open again."
There's no doubt a lot of disappointed fans out there right now, particularly those who have never been to WrestleMania before. Unfortunately, it's a necessary evil in order to ensure that people stay safe, and something that's become the norm with every major event at the moment.
We'll keep you guys updated.
