WrestleMania is currently scheduled to take place on Sunday, April 5th at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. However, it's definitely looking unlikely that the show will take place because Hillsborough Commissioner Les Miller has now elaborated on whether the city is happy with WWE still holding the show.
"I’m hoping that Vince McMahon, WrestleMania and WWE make the call themselves," explains in the video below.
"But a week from now, if they’ve not done that and we’re still in the situation we’re in, we’ll probably have to pull the plug on that."
Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister has added to that, stating: "I commend every sports franchise for erring on the side of caution. I hope the WWE follows suit. I don't ever want to see people put profit over public safety." Right now, it really doesn't feel like WWE is going to have any other option than to change plans for WrestleMania.
WWE has said they have a contingency plan in place, and moving forward with an international event like this in the midst of a pandemic would surely be an absolute PR nightmare for the company.
