The Undertaker's final match in WWE was supposed to be against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 33. However, over the weekend, we learned that the Deadman was extremely unhappy about how that played out, so it's no great surprise that he returned the following year to face John Cena.
There was a huge amount of excitement surrounding the match, and unlike the year before, The Undertaker put a serious amount of time into ensuring he was ready to face the leader of the Cenation.
Despite that, the match lasted a paltry 2 minutes, 45 seconds.
"I was working with Cena, over in like four or five minutes. I was like, 'You gotta be kidding me?!' Because I trained harder than I had ever...I train hard as it is, to get ready for Mania," the Phenom explained. "But I had an extra, I had to be redeeming myself. If I’m gonna do this I’m gonna redeem myself to the point where that [WrestleMania 33] was just a flash and a bad memory. And then we go out in four minutes. Vince thought it was hilarious!"
The Undertaker didn't elaborate on why their match was so short, but it's pretty typical that Vince McMahon would find it funny that these two future WWE Hall of Famers only had a few minutes to work. After missing WrestleMania 35, the Deadman returned to WWE the following year to face AJ Styles in a cinematic Boneyard match which did, in fact, serve as his final bout in WWE.
