Triple H appeared on Corey Graves' After The Bell podcast this week, and touched on a number of topics ahead of the celebration of his 25-year career. One of them was the logistics surrounding this year's unique presentation of WrestleMania, including the Boneyard match between AJ Styles and The Undertaker (which received rave reviews from fans).
The Game explained that Vince McMahon had "no idea" what a Boneyard match was going to be, and that, "I was like, 'Okay great so what is the boneyard match?’ He’s [Vince] like, ‘I don’t know.’ He was like ‘a graveyard, it’s in a graveyard’ and I said ‘okay.’ As we go I said ‘what do you want it to be?’ and he’s like, ‘I don’t know, just make it good.'"
He added that they only had one camera when they started shooting, but McMahon would later give them more resources. "I then went to Vince and was like, you know I pitched him the concept and the idea and he’s like ‘I love that, that sounds awesome.’ Then I said ‘well problem is right now I have one camera’ he’s like ‘you can’t do it with one camera!?’ And I’m like ‘I KNOW.'"
Triple H concluded by pointing out that he used NXT's digital team, including Jeremy Borash, to create the cinematic feel of the match. It's widely been hailed as the best part of WrestleMania, and something The Undertaker has expressed interest in doing again somewhere down the line.
