Triple H recently spoke to the New York Post to promote the final episode of Undertaker: The Last Ride on the WWE Network, a finale we now know concluded with the Deadman retiring from in-ring competition. That means the "Boneyard match" at WrestleMania against AJ Styles was his last, and The Game has weighed in on whether he thinks that will truly serve as his final bout.
"I don’t know," the WWE Hall of Famer admitted. "It’s hard for me to say when somebody like him puts it down because I feel like the dragon is always in front of him one way or another and he’s always gonna look to do it. I think it would be hard for him to end on some kind of theatrical piece like that because of what you said, the emotionality of it. We finished the last shot and then we’re like, ‘Alright, I think we got some good stuff let’s go home.’"
The match has been hailed as a masterpiece, so it certainly seems fitting for The Undertaker to end things there rather than in another underwhelming bout against someone like Goldberg or, well, Triple H! However, The Game believes that Taker being robbed of that final goodbye to fans is what could lead him to step back into the squared circle.
"It’s not the closure you’re looking for. Then again, if he decided to never come back or his health gets worse or he gets injured or something, this could be the last one. So, when I got involved in it, I was hell-bent on making sure for Mark this thing’s got to be everything it could be. It can’t fall apart on our end."
Do you guys think The Undertaker's career has finally reached its end and, if so, is the "Boneyard match" really the perfect final bout for the iconic WWE Superstar?
