A number of past and present Superstars have taken to social media over the past 24 hours to share their thoughts on the passing of "Mean" Gene Okerlund. For millions of people, he was the voice that wrestling fans grew up with on a Saturday morning and his work in a number of companies including WWE and WCW has made him an iconic part of the business known by pretty much everyone.
Okerlund was also someone who helped keep interviews on track, especially with wrestlers who weren't particularly good with promos (and there were an awful lot of them back in the 80s and 90s).
Now, Vince McMahon has shared his thoughts on Okderlund's legacy and it's clear that he was appreciated by WWE. Whether or not the company will mark his career with a Hall of Fame induction remains to be seen but it's rare for non-wrestlers to be included so time will now tell on that front.
