Even before Bray Wyatt became The Fiend, there were rumours in WWE that he might be joined by Sister Abigail. It never happened, and while Alexa Bliss joined the former Universal Champion in the Firefly Funhouse, it was as herself rather than the mysterious woman from Bray's past.
However, it's now been revealed that there were once serious talks about using Sister Abigail in WWE, albeit with a male Superstar filling the role (yes, you read that right).
During an interview with Metro, former WWE Superstar Mike Bennett revealed, "Early on when Bray Wyatt turned into The Fiend, Vince was always high on having Bray lead a group for some reason – he always wanted him to lead a group. We were about a week away from making it happen where me and Eric Young were gonna be part of Bray Wyatt’s group. We were gonna actually be – they were gonna bring to life the puppets."
"Each puppet was gonna represent an actual person," he continued. "I don’t remember, there were talks that I was gonna be Sister Abigail and Eric Young was gonna be a buzzard."
This sounds absolutely crazy, and while it seems Bennett was open to exploring the idea, plans changed, and Vince McMahon decided not to bring those puppets to life. As for Bray, he's been absent from WWE television since shortly after losing to Randy Orton at this year's WrestleMania.
There have been a lot of rumours about his planned return, but no sign of him on RAW as of yet.
