While SmackDown is generally pretty decent (mostly because of Roman Reigns), Monday Night Raw has, to be frank, become an embarrassment of late, with repetitive matches, uninvolving storylines and downright laughable segments involving possessed dolls. WWE's flagship show has been treading water for a while now, and the general consensus is that one man is to blame.
While the company does have various writers, producers, agents and other individuals with creative input, Vince McMahon is the man in charge at the end of the day, and he ultimately calls the shots. Well, things may be looking up, because Vince is said to be aware of how low the product has sunk.
Mat Men Podcast host Andrew Zarian claims to have heard some things that give him hope that WWE will soon be able to turn things around.
In response, Paul David of WrestlingNews.co writes:
“WrestlingNews.co reached out to a couple of people in WWE to see if anyone has heard anything and the people we spoke with are unaware of changes coming but we were told that Vince McMahon is definitely aware that the product is stale and the feeling among people in management has been that the ‘good stuff’ in regards to creative is being saved for the live crowds.”
There are rumors that John Cena, Brock Lesnar and even Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson might be set to return once arenas are packed (well, even half-filled would be a start) again, so let's hope there's some truth to this, because WWE really needs to start making some changes.
