Vince McMahon Reportedly Edited Graphic Sight Of Rey Mysterio's Eye Being Removed At EXTREME RULES

Many fans were left underwhelmed by the lack of gory special effects in the "Eye for an Eye" match at Extreme Rules, and it's now said that Vince McMahon was the one responsible for altering the spot...

As we told you yesterday, Vince McMahon made a last-minute change to the Asuka vs. Sasha Banks match at Extreme Rules to ensure it had a finish that would build to a rematch on RAW (which has now been confirmed for next week).

Now, though, it's being reported by PW Insider that the original plan was indeed for Seth Rollins vs. Rey Mysterio in an "Eye for an Eye" match to feature CGI effects which would have shown the Master of the 619's eyeball either popping out of his head or hanging out after it was removed by Rollins on the edge of those steel steps.

However, when Sunday rolled around (when the match was taped), there were plans in place to use prosthetics to achieve that same effect.

Well, Vince McMahon saw this and reportedly hated the look and effect of the sequence, so he decided it shouldn't be included. Honestly, looking at the one dodgy shot we got of Mysterio holding his "eyeball," this is probably for the best as it seems this was an effect WWE simply couldn't pull off.

As of now, Mysterio hasn't signed a new WWE contract, and his future with WWE beyond this past Sunday's Extreme Rules is now unclear.
