Yesterday, WWE held an investor conference call which saw Chairman Vince McMahon address the company's declining ratings. He said that WWE is no longer hanging their hat on ratings along because fans are watching their programming through other platforms (presumably YouTube, which makes them little to no money).
"We’re doing everything we can," McMahon admitted. "Better writing and better execution."
This isn't the first time he's acknowledged that WWE needs to up its game from a creative standpoint, but we've yet to see it comes a reality. There were other noteworthy reveals on the call, though, including the fact that Netflix is working on a documentary about Vince with Bill Simmons attached as an executive producer.
WWE is also looking to expand the WWE Network, while it was mentioned that shows like RAW and SmackDown will continue having some sort of base leading into 2021 (they may be unable to remain in Orlando's Amway Center because of NBA's plans to kick off a new season in December).
As expected, there was no word on when fans might be able to return to shows.
