We Finally Know Which WWE Brand Will Host This Year's MONEY IN THE BANK Pay Per View

The RAW and SmackDown Live rosters only come together a few times a year for shared PPVs, but which brand gets Money in the Bank? We finally know the answer, so hit the jump for details!

Since the brand split, it's become clear that the only shows Superstars from both RAW and SmackDown Live would appear on at the same time are Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, SummerSlam, and Survivor Series. However, that's left everyone wondering where that leaves Money in the Bank, the annual PPV where competing wrestlers scramble to retrieve a briefcase from the top of a ladder, with the winner then able to cash that in at any time for a shot at the world title.

While it would have made sense for this to be a shared show in order for both RAW and SmackDown Live to have a briefcase, it's now been confirmed that this will be an exclusive event for the latter.

Announcing that tickets go on sale this Friday, WWE has made it clear that the Money in the Bank briefcase is heading to SmackDown Live, and honestly, this makes a lot of sense. The show has a lot of up and coming stars, not to mention veterans like AJ Styles and John Cena whose presence would help ensure that the ladder match is far from predictable. Throw in the fact that the show has a deep roster of female talent and it's hard not to wonder if 2017 could be the year we get the first all-female ladder match for a briefcase.

That would certainly shake things up, but we'll just have to wait and see. For more on what to expect from this year's Money in the Bank PPV event, here's the press release from WWE:

One of sports-entertainment's most historic cities will be the site of one of WWE's greatest traditions when the Scottrade Center in St. Louis hosts SmackDown LIVE's Money in the Bank 2017 on Sunday, June 18.

Tickets for Team Blue's huge pay-per-view will be available at Ticketmaster.com starting this Friday, Feb. 17, at 10 a.m. CT.

Since the event's introduction in 2010, Money in the Bank has quickly become one of WWE's most anticipated cards of the year, thanks to its exciting and eponymous Money in the Bank Ladder Match, the winner of which earns the right to cash in a guaranteed title opportunity against the WWE Champion.

What insanity will take place this year as SmackDown LIVE Superstars throw caution to the wind in the pursuit of championship glory?

Find out for yourself by securing your Money in the Bank tickets as soon as they become available this Friday!
