Once again, classic WWE events draw good numbers.
This past Sunday, WrestleMania 30 aired for the first time on ESPN and according to ShowBuzzDaily reports, 839,000 viewers rewatched the historic event that took place on April 6, 2014. This is the first pay-per-view that’s aired on the ESPN network; however, the numbers started out strong, especially amongst the 18-49 demographic.
WrestleMania 30 will always be remembered for the night Brock Lesnar became the first man to defeat The Undertaker, making his record at the grandest stage of them all 21-1. Also, Daniel Bryan overcame impossible odds by not only defeating Triple H, but also Randy Orton and Batista in a Triple Threat match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
Elsewhere, John Cena resisted turning into a monster and defeated Bray Wyatt, The Shield dominated the team of Kane and The New Age Outlaws, and AJ Lee and The Usos retained their respective championships.
Good news for fans who want to revisit past WrestleMania’s; however, don’t want to pay for the WWE Network, WrestleMania 32 will air this Sunday, March 29. The event was headlined with Roman Reigns vs. Triple H for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. The Undertaker vs. Shane McMahon in a Hell in a Cell match and the Women’s Championship Triple Threat bout between Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks, and Becky Lynch also took place that night.
