It's already crazy to think that WWE is allowed to run shows from the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida (they're an "essential business," apparently), but they could soon be allowed to welcome fans into the building as soon as next week. The same also applies to All Elite Wrestling's Dynamite tapings in Jacksonville, Florida.
According to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, his new guidelines for re-opening the state of Florida mean that large spectator sporting events can include fans, providing they adhere to social distancing guidelines and that venues are at only 25% capacity.
"Large spectator sporting events should use strict social distancing guidelines and limit occupancy of venues to 25 percent of building capacity," his statement reads, confirming that both AEW and WWE will be able to bring fans to shows like RAW and Dynamite providing they meet these guidelines. Buildings will be pretty empty, of course, but are some fans better than no fans?
The answer is probably yes, but this seems way too soon, and is surely a dangerous move that could backfire on both promotions. We'll obviously keep you guys updated, but it would be surprising to see an audience for either company's shows as soon as next week. We hope!
