As expected, WWE's events scheduled to take place in April have all been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut has announced that the RAW scheduled for April 27th is no longer taking place, so common sense says that the rest of that month's shows also won't happen given the lockdowns in the United States.
Yesterday, it was revealed that hundreds of thousands of people could die in the United States from COVID-19, so sold-out arenas for wrestling shows won't be seen for a very long time to come.
This means that WWE will likely continue taping RAW, SmackDown, and NXT in the empty WWE Performance Center. WrestleMania has been taped, as has this Friday's SmackDown and next Monday's RAW. It's said that the April 10th episode of the former will air live on April 10th, as will NXT on April 15th.
For now, it seems like WWE shows will continue to be audience free for the foreseeable future, and that's no great surprise considering what's going on in the world. Things will return to normal one day, but it's going to be interesting seeing how WWE weathers the storm over the coming weeks and months.
